Description

The Victor Reader Stream and Trek are powerful tools which can assist individuals with vision loss in a variety of situations. This presentation will demonstrate some of the latest features of this device and discuss how the product can be used for several purposes in the classroom and work environments.

Outcomes of Presentation

Attendees will gain basic knowledge of several of the new features recently added to the Victor Reader Stream and Victor Reader Trek.
Attendees will be able to identify at least three examples of unique uses of the Victor Reader in both the classroom and work environments.
Attendees will have a basic understanding of the Victor Reader's map browsing mode which allows users to explore a location without actually being there.

Jim Denham is the Access Technology Specialist for the Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired. In this role, he conducts technology assessments and provides training on a wide array of tools, such as screen readers, screen magnification software, smart phones and refreshable braille displays. Being blind himself, Jim utilizes much of this technology on a daily basis. He is passionate about helping individuals with disabilities learn to use technology to accomplish tasks that seem impossible.
