    Description

    The book Finding Wheels provides travelers (those in their teens and early 20s) with information on being a nondriver and/or exploring low vision driving. The presenter will provide an overview of the components of the book. The audience will gain ideas to use with their travelers.

    Outcomes of Presentation

    1. Participants will list the 10 chapters in Finding Wheels.
    2. Participants will describe 10 activities travelers an complete to build their skills as nondrivers or potential low vision drivers.
    3. Participants will list 3 ways they will use the book Finding Wheels in their own work with their students/clients.

    Contributors

    • Dr. L. Penny Rosenblum

      Dr. Rosenblum is the Director of Research at the American Foundation for the Blind. She joined AFB in January 2020. Prior to joining AFB she was a university faculty member at the University of Arizona where she prepared teachers of visually impaired students and ran research. She is a certified teacher of students with visual impairments. Dr. Rosenblum has presented and published on a wide range of topics.
