    Description

    We are past the 2-year mark of when the COVID-19 pandemic caused an abrupt change for all of us. The presenter will discuss the impact of the pandemic on those with visual impairments and how we can use lessons learned as we plan for the future.

    Outcomes of Presentation

    1. Participants will escribe 5 findings from the Flatten Inaccessibility study.
    2. Participants will describe 5 findings from the Access and Engagement studies.
    3. Participants will list 5 ways we can use the lessons from the pandemic to impact the future for those with vision loss.

    Contributors

    • Dr. L. Penny Rosenblum

      Dr. Rosenblum is the Director of Research at the American Foundation for the Blind. She joined AFB in January 2020. Prior to joining AFB she was a university faculty member at the University of Arizona where she prepared teachers of visually impaired students and ran research. She is a certified teacher of students with visual impairments. Dr. Rosenblum has presented and published on a wide range of topics.
