    This practical, dynamic, interactive presentation will demonstrate how to engage learners with vision loss and complex learning needs in accessible interactive stories. A model of a Story Time Show will be used to demonstrate how this can be successfully achieved.

    Primary Learning Objectives:

    1. Participants will be able to identify the essential literacy access skills within a story and be ready to implement them in their own practice
    2. Participants will be able to identify how the components of story time shows support literacy outcomes for children with complex learning needs
    3. Participants will be able to identify the importance of creating an accessible library of stories for children with complex learning needsĀ

      Gwyn McCormack the Director of Positive Eye, UK, works internationally providing highly practical training and resources to educators working with children with vision loss. When COVID hit the world Gwyn used her skills and talents to create a Story Time Show for children with vision loss and complex learning needs. The literacy outcomes for the children and their families have been incredible and surprised EVERYONE! In this session Gwyn shares how everyone can present a Story Time Show using simple approaches, a little high energy, whilst having lots of fun.
