This practical, dynamic,
interactive presentation will demonstrate how to engage learners with vision
loss and complex learning needs in accessible interactive stories. A model of a
Story Time Show will be used to demonstrate how this can be successfully
Primary Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify the essential literacy access skills within a story and be ready to implement them in their own practice
- Participants will be able to identify how the components of story time shows support literacy outcomes for children with complex learning needs
- Participants will be able to identify the importance of creating an accessible library of stories for children with complex learning needs
