    Description

    This presentation will showcase multiple aids to familiarize students to their environment. We will look at tools that are freely available from Google and other vendors that will allow an O&M to develop electronic and tactile maps for their students.

    Primary Learning Objectives: 

    1. Discuss tools needed for creating tactile maps
    2. Locate free resources to creating automated tactile maps
    3. Discuss ways to perform environmental previews

      Brian Goemmer is owner of Lab Computers, Inc., providing support of blind and low vision assistive technology for over 20 years. He has presented on topics such as GPS, Braille notetaker, tactile graphics, and early braille literacy at national and statewide conferences. He completed an O&M degree at the University of Kentucky and is a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist.
