It has been virtually two decades since l have been involved, both at a professional level and on a
semi-voluntary basis with Habilitation and Rehabilitation of persons with
vision impairment.
My
name is Molemisi Kono; a UK trained Habilitation and Rehabilitation Specialist
for blind and vision impaired children, young people and adults (CYPA). Currently, and in conjunction with other several like-minded
stakeholders, we are contributing to the Birmingham University writing of the
first ever ‘UK Vision Impairment Curriculum Framework’, which shall be taught
in all of the United Kingdom. .
Furthermore,
I am the founder and CEO of ‘Visual Eyes Afrika-international
(VEA-int)’.To date the company leaves behind a traceable
record as it embarks on among others, organising and
conducting workshops, seminars and giving oral presentation at international
conferences on the importance of early habilitation interventions. VEA-int
is committed to providing equitable,
inclusive, sustainable and resilient access to habilitation and rehabilitation
in Africa and elsewhere in the world.
