While early habilitation interventions (HI) continues
apace in the UK, exemplified by the current participation by the presenter and other stakeholders
with Birmingham University in writing the first ever ‘UK Vision Impairment
Curriculum Framework,’ the same can’t be said of Africa. By the end of the
presentation, attendees should have understood the need and the rationale
behind calls for early habilitation interventions in Africa.
