Description
Outdoor recreation has many benefits for youth. Benefits may be more profound in youth with visual impairments as the involvement in outdoor recreation activities provides improved self-determination and socialization. Join Lauren Lieberman and Megan Hale to learn about a qualitative phenomenological study which determined the lived outdoor recreation experiences of youth with visual impairments. They will also share many tried and true modifications for some popular outdoor activities such as archery, biking, hiking, kayaking, stand up paddleboard, fishing, orienteering, cross country skiing, rock climbing, and more.
